Delivering a key market’s transition to a global platform
Over the course of the twelve month project for this large pharma, our mission was clear: deploy the key market of USA into one of their key commercial systems, transforming the way materials were managed and approved.
In the heart of digital transformation, every project tells a story of resilience, innovation, and collaboration. As the project business lead for this USA specific project, I had the honour of delivering success amidst the complexities of change. Through the project, challenges were transformed into triumphs through strategic planning and meticulous execution.
At the inception of the project, we were tasked with identifying USA business materials approval (MAP) requirements to translate into a design and configuration for the companies PromoMats system. Drawing upon the insights gathered, we embarked on a definition and design phase, crafting solutions tailored to the US market’s unique business needs.
From authoring testing scenarios to providing subject matter expertise during testing, the project navigated the challenges that come with innovation with resolve.
As we progressed through the execution phase, we encountered the challenge of preparing and managing business user acceptance test (UAT) activities. With meticulous attention to detail, the project team identified business testers and ensured they had necessary tester training. We steered our project team towards success, ensuring that testing was completed according to schedule and defects were promptly addressed.
The project was not without its challenges. The development of software development lifecycle documentation required a large effort, as we meticulously crafted test plans, UAT scripts, and data migration strategies. Yet, with determination and perseverance, we pushed ahead, focussing on delivering excellence for the USA business.
As we pressed onward, we executed the go-forward plan with precision. From updating USA specific training materials to conducting live end user training sessions, we ensured that every member of our team was equipped with the knowledge and skills needed for success. With the support of an external technical partner we meticulously planned and executed every aspect of the migration process, ensuring a seamless transition for the USA market from their legacy system to the companies global platform.
Throughout our journey, effective project management and stakeholder communication were the cornerstones of our success. Weekly status reports and burn reports kept us on course, while risk mitigation plans ensured a smooth delivery. As we navigated challenges with the complex US material approval process, we remained steadfast in our commitment to success, ensuring that every decision was made with the utmost care and collaboration with the USA MAP team.
